We are pleased to express our compliments for the KOTOR FESTIVAL OF CHILDREN’S THEATRE 2012. In our opinion, as far as its idea and implementation are concerned, this has been the best festival of this kind ever organized in Kotor. Some characteristics of this year's Festival are:
- Innovative programmes allowing both children and grown-ups to enjoy a variety of good-quality and modern theatre performances coming from different parts of the world;
- Active involvement of local community, especially young volunteers;
- Involving local creative persons (as moderators of workshops or active participants in programmes ...), as well as giving opportunities to local theatre initiatives to present their work (Kotor School of Acting, High School Kotor, NGO Avenir from Herceg Novi, ...);
- Cooperation with cultural actors from other municipalities in the Bay of Boka Kotorska (guest performers from Tivat and Herceg Novi);
- Using different public spaces in order to hold workshops and performances - the whole town was one large and beautiful scene;
- Producing and placing interesting artistic installations in different squares, giving the town an air of creativity;
- Giving everyone a chance to participate - the inclusion of children with special needs;
- A large number of creative workshops for children and young people (stained-glass workshop, dance, fine arts and applied arts workshops, school of comics, puppet workshops, poetry and language, film and acting workshops, musical instruments making, ...) It is very important that the children living in Kotor had the opportunity to participate in these creative workshops, learn various new skills, and later on present their work to the public;
As the result of a well-planned and executed programme and the organizers’ efforts, during the 10 days of Festival the town of Kotor was endowed with a wonderful atmosphere. We would certainly support the idea that the Festival activities extend throughout a year
