On Wednesday, June 13th 2012, visiting NGO Expeditio were students from the University of Vienna BOKU (University of Natural Resources and Applied Natural Sciences) who were from June 10th to 16th, 2012 in the study visit to protected areas of Montenegro. A representative of the NGO Expeditio, Tatjana Rajic, in the hall of the Music School (in the hall of the church Holy spirit), gave a presentation on the Expeditio activities.
The objective of the study tour is to learn about the natural values of Montenegro, that in meetings with representatives of the institutions involved in protecting the nature, local people, associations and non-governmental organizations familiar with the situation regarding the protection of nature in Montenegro, khow about the features and benefits, and problems and pressures with which Montenegro is facing today. Also, the purpose of travel is students to familiarize.
During the study tour, students visited the National Park Durmitor and Tara Canyon, National Park Lovcen and Njegusi, Kotor and Bay of Kotor, the National Park Skadar Lake and Godinje, where in meetings with representatives of institutions dealing with the protection of nature, the management of protected areas, local residents associations and non-governmental organizations, they met with the situation regarding the protection of nature in Montenegro, but also a way of "ordinary" people life in the vicinity of protected areas, traditional activities and attitude of the population towards the space and the environment in general.
