On 24 June 2010, a workshop entitled "Mapping of the Cultural Landscape of Boka Kotorska" was held in Kotor. The workshop was part of a Landscape Stewardship Exchange in the Boka Kotorska Bay, which was organized by the Quebec-Labrador Foundation /Atlantic Center for the Environment (QLF), in partnership with EXPEDITIO Center for Sustainable Spatial Development, on 21-27 June 2010.
The aim of the Landscape Stewardship Exchange in Boka Kotorska was to foster a more active involvement of citizens in the landscape protection, management and planning (stewardship), specifically through a direct involvement in the process of identification of cultural landscape values. The LSE programme focused on the area of Boka Kotorska, including the territories of the municipalities of Kotor, Tivat and Herceg Novi, as an extremely valuable cultural landscape, which is currently facing many challenges and risks related to its protection and planning. The workshop "Mapping of the Cultural Landscape of Boka Kotorska" gathered representatives of various cultural heritage stakeholders from the area of Boka Kotorska (local authorities, institutions, NGOs, media, individuals, etc.l). The aim of the workshop was to:
* Identify the most valuable elements of the cultural landscape of Boka Kotorska, and those that are crucial for the area’s identity and that should not be lost
* Identify all stakeholders who influence the protection, management and planning of cultural landscapes, define their roles in that process and in what ways various stakeholders and citizens can contribute to enhancing the landscape
