NGO “Expeditio – Centre for Sustainable Spatial Development” from Kotor, the „Bureau for Education Services of Montenegro“ and NGO “JAS - Jugend Architektur Stadt“ from Essen, Germany have just begun implementing the project SCHOOL4CITY. The aim of this project is to empower children and students so that in the future they can take a more active role in creating their cities and places while applying the sustainable development principles.
The project, planned to last for three years, includes different activities aimed at improving the understanding of sustainable cities planning among the teachers and children/students in kindergartens, primary and high-schools. The project SCHOOL4CITY will contribute to improving the implementation of the cross-curricular area Sustainable Cities and Neighborhoods in primary and high schools, as well as of the programme Education for Sustainable Development within the area of pre-school education activities.
In order to promote the project activities in an effective way the project partners are announcing a COMPETITION for the preliminary design of the SCHOOL4CITY project logo.
WHO CAN TAKE PART IN THE COMPETITION?
The competition is open to students in primary and high schools in Montnegro and abroad.
GUIDELINES
Logo bi trebalo da zadovolji ove dvije karakteristikeThe logo should have the following characteristics:
1 – BE SIMPLE
2 – BE ORIGINAL
The design should include a LOGO (sign) and the project title written in Montenegrin and English language, as shown in the sketch below. The position of project title in relation to the LOGO (sign), the relation between the elements, colours, etc. should be conceived by the authors of logo.
Important note:
Entries not presenting original solutions (e.g. a logo taken from the Internet) will not be considered.
FUTURE USE OF THE LOGO
The logo will be used on materials promoting the project SCHOOL4CITY, such as brochures, T-shirts, website, video, etc.
PREPARING A PRELIMINARY DESIGN FOR THE LOGO
Preliminary designs can be sent as scanned drawings (made by hand) or in digital form (jpg, pdf, or some other format).The organizers reserve the right to further develop the winning design in cooperation with its author. After selecting a winning design and awarding the prizes the organizers take over copyright on the winning design.
HOW TO TAKE PART IN THE COMPETITION
Students can send their entries in two ways:
● Through schools which have been sent an invitation to take part in the COMPETITION
Schools should make a selection of 5-10 entries and send them to the below stated e-mail address. If several entries are sent in one e-mail a care should be taken to clearly identify the author of each entry.
● Individually
Students can send their entries individually to the below stated e-mail address. If several entries are sent in one e-mail a care should be taken to clearly identify the author of each entry.
PRIZES
First prize – a tablet
Second prize – a camera
Third prize – an mp3 player
DEADLINE
The deadline for the submission of entries is Monday, the 15th of February 2016 (by 5 p.m.).
Entries received after this deadline will not be taken into consideration..

- Name and surname of the author
- Year of birth
- School
- Adresa stanovanja
- Home address

SELECTION AND PROMOTION
Selection and evaluation of received entries will be done by a jury of experts. Results of the competition will be presented at the first promotion of the project in Podgorica, on 9th March 2016 when three most successful entries will be announced. The prizes will be subsequently sent to the winners.
