The project “School and City” approved by the Commission for the allocation of part of revenues from games of chance for 2015

At the beginning of December 2015, the project of Expeditio entitled “School and City” was approved by the Commission for the allocation of part of revenues from games of chance. The project belongs to Category B (plans and programmes over 15,000.00 EUR) and the field: Non-institutional education of children and youth.

The project SCHOOL ♥ CITY aims to improve the knowledge about the planning of sustainable cities and towns among the teachers and students in primary schools in Montenegro. The legal basis for the implementation of the project is the fact that the Education for sustainable development programme has already been introduced into Montenegrin educational system, including eight cross-curricular fields, one of which is Sustainable cities and towns. Although this legal basis for education on sustainable cities has been created, the level of its implementation in primary schools in Montenegro is still very low. For that reason, the SCHOOL ♥ CITY project deals with practical education of teachers and students about the topic of sustainable cities and towns, so that this cross-curricular field could become part of the regular school curricula.

Direct target groups: teachers (150) and students in Montenegrin primary schools (2000). Indirect target groups: students’ parents and/or guardians (3000) and citizens in Montenegro / broader public (5000). Main activities: workshops with teachers (with a prepared manual), training for trainers, creative actions at schools and project promotion activities. Place of the realization: primary schools in Montenegro (in southern, northern and central part of the country).

This project’s funds will be used as co-funding for the project School4City.
