Workshop for primary school teachers from the area of the Boka Kotorska and Podgorica on sustainable cities and evaluation of space was held from April 17-18th 2015 in Tivat. This workshop was organized by EXPEDITIO in cooperation with Institute of Education of Montenegro.
The aim of this training was to enable teachers to integrate learning about sustainable cities and towns in their courses encouraging students to think about the values of space and the challenges of planning and managing of this important resource. The training program is aligned with the objectives and learning outcomes of cross-curricular area - evaluation and planning of space - sustainable cities and towns. The training was conducted with the Institute of Education of Montenegro.
Participants of the training, 23 teachers from Tivat, Herceg Novi, Bijela, Risan, Radovici, Igalo, Radanovici and Prcanj will receive a certificate of participation in the training program. Teachers were able to learn about the principles of sustainable development and sustainable cities and towns, cross-curricular area in the educational system, teaching methods. They also had a practical field work in the form of research (detecting elements of space, mapping the potential and challenges, presentation at the so-called Gulliver map), defining the values of the space, development of the scenario for the lesson that involves the integration of cross-curricular area Evaluation and planning of the space - sustainable cities and towns.
