NGO Green Home on Tuesday March 10th, has organized a protest in Budva, against the announced oil and gas exploration in the Adriatic Sea. The reason for the protest was the maintenance of the Adriatic Summit on Oil and Gas, which was held at the same day in Budva, and was aimed to examine the current opportunities and challenges in the field of exploitation of oil and gas in the Adriatic region.
The protest brought together activists of organizations for the protection of the environment from Montenegro, carrying signs, "No drilling of the Adriatic", "Montenegro Oil Beauty", "We Do Not Give Adriatic for Private Exploitation", and "Sea Is Not a Private Playground." Protest, as support, was joined by the representatives of the Croatian Platform SOS Adriatic led by Luka Tomac from Green Action / Friends of the Earth.
From the protest is announced to the Government of Montenegro to immediate stop the project of oil and gas research, and call refenendum to enable citizens and professional public to comment on it.
Expeditio representatives joined the protest by supporting the initiative against the oil platforms in Adriatic sea.
