Expeditio, in cooperation with UNDP (United Nations Development Programme), is implementing the programme: Montenegro - Sustainable Development Portal.

Project objectives are:

1. Increasing awareness among the citizens and institutions in Montenegro about sustainable development trends in Montenegro
2. Promoting the concept of sustainable development in Montenegro, as well as relevant processes and documents at national, local and international levels
3. Monitoring the process of implementation of national documents pertaining to sustainable development, in the first place the National Strategy for Sustainable Development
4. Online Resource center for all documents atnational and international levels regarding sustainable development
5. Public participation platform for a wider citizen participationin decision-making processes

Through creating a  web portal this project will enable ON-LINE monitoring of the implementation of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development, National Human Development report on Resource efficiency, MDGs, as well as MDG acceleration framework process which will be focusing on youth, and when time comes SDGs. Through clear tabular and graphic presentations of the Strategy’s ful fillme ntindicators, the citizens will gain a better understanding of the sustainable development trends in  Montenegro. In that way, they will be able to exert pressure on the responsible state institutions in cases when the trends are unsatisfactory or negative.

In additionto this main activity, the project will define a form intended for all stakeholders /state bodies and institutions/ responsible for the NSSD implementation, in order to facilitate the future monitoring of sustainable development in Montenegro. Furthermore, the project will focus on raising awareness among the citizens and institutions of the NSSD importance for the development of Montenegro and environmental protection. In parallel with the mentioned activities, a comparison between Montenegrin and EU indicators of sustainable development will be conducted, which will additionally clarify the position of Montenegro and its attitude to sustainable development compared to that of the EU countries.

The project is expected to:

1. facilitate follow up to Future we want / post -2015 consultations in relation to maintaining the dialogue and Increasing awareness among the citizens and institutions in Montenegro about  sustainable development
2. Ease the access to monitoring the process of implementation of national documents pertaining to sustainable development, in the first place the National Strategy for Sustainable Development
3. Promotion of the Human development concept into policy creation and dialog on the National and Local level
4. Enable wider citizen participation in decision-making processes
