Accepted the initiative for the establishment of protection of hotel Durmitor in Zabljak

Direction for Protection of Cultural Property approved the request - an initiative for establishment of protection of hotel Durmitor in Zabljak, which was submitted by NGO Expeditio in April this year.

The notification of the acceptance of the initiative is stated as follows:

" After examining the legal and supporting documents relating to cultural property and cultural heritage of Montenegro Directorate for the Protection of Cultural Property was determined that the material possession hotel Durmitor built in 1938 per project of prof.dr.ing.arh Božidara Tomic was not performed evaluation of the cultural and historical values. It was also established that the subject possession does not have the necessary documentation on potential cultural and historical values.

According to initiative,it is an object that represents a unique example of creativity of its time and has architectural, environmental and cultural values.

Considering the above, we accept the initiative for the establishment of protection of hotel Durmitor in Zabljak, which have met the requirements for implementation of the Article 19 as art. 23 and 24 of the Law on Protection of Cultural Properties and Ordinance on detailed criteria and procedures for determining the cultural values ​​of cultural possession ( Official Gazette of Montenegro br.41/11 ) "
