Supporting the Novi Val Festival in Budva – volunteering action within the StroNGO project

On Friday, 16 September 2016 at 8 p.m. the screening of films of the Novi Val Festival, postponed last week because of rain, will be held in the Modern Gallery in Budva. The program features 15 to 20-minute-long films by young authors, including “The Chicken” by Una Gunjak and “Picnic” by Jure Pavlović, awarded with “European Oscar”, as well as the films “One Night” by Strahinja Savić and “Backyards” by Ivan Salatić.

The same evening, Certificates of Appreciation will be awarded to Festival volunteers for promoting the event in the best way and assisting the organizer, non-governmental association Agora, in implementing the program, the musical part of which thrilled both the audience and the participants. Unforgettable concerts before several hundred visitors were given by the bands “Solid Ground” from Cetinje and “Mazzom u fugazzu” from Budva, for whom it was the first appearance on stage, as well as the guests from Croatia, bands “Punčke i Kandžija” and “Gole žene”, the latter one performing in Montenegro for the first time.

Volunteering action within the Festival was funded by the European Union through the STRONGO project, in which NGO Agora is a partner organization, together with NGO Expeditio from Kotor, Urban Nova from Herceg Novi, Naša akcija from Kotor and Napredak from Gornja Lastva. The second edition of the Novi Val Festival, intended primarily for young people, was supported by the HG “Budvanska rivijera” and local businesses, as well the public institutions “Theatre City” and “Modern Gallery”.
