Headley Trust Foundation in May 2014 approved a grant to Expeditio project named "Traditional materials and building techniques in the Boka Kotorska". Given the lack of appropriate examples of restoration of traditional wooden windows and application of lime mortar on traditional buildings, and the lack of information in our language concerning these issues, there is a need for professional literature on traditional techniques, crafts and materials. EXPEDITIO conceived this project in order to continue improving the knowledge and skills of traditional materials and the use of building techniques, focusing on wooden windows and lime mortar.
Once again we wish to thank participants of the Work camp on restoration of wooden windows, on their engagement and great contribution to the restoration of the windows on Slavijan Reading Room. We also thank all those who were contacting us and were interested in participating, but because of the limited number of places we have not been able to host them.
We invite you to the presentation "Traditional techniques and materials -Restoration of wooden windows" which will be held on Monday May 4th 2015 at 20:00h in the Gallery of Solidarity in Kotor. The presentation is organized as part of the Work Camp on restoration of wooden windows, which was organized by EXPEDITIO in cooperation with the Cultural Heritage without Borders - CHwB within the project "Traditional materials and building techniques in Boka Kotorska," which is funded by the Headley Trust from the UK.
On April 13th 2015 applications for restoration camp on wooden windows are closed. EXPEDITIO in cooperation with CHwB (Cultural Heritage without Borders) invites all interested parties to apply for participation in the Work Camp on restoration of wooden windows, which will be held in Kotor, in the periodMay 04-06th 2015.
In May of 2014, Headley Trust Foundation approved funding for the Expeditio project titled: Traditional materials and building techniques in Boka Kotorska. Below you can read a brief description of the project.
EXPEDITIO is a non-governmental organization whose mission is to encourage sustainable spatial development in Montenegro and SEE region through activity in the fields of sustainable architecture, cultural heritage, urban planning and through projects that encourage overall development of the civil society. Expeditio was established in 1997.
