Radionica suvozid Kuci 01The workshop “Mountain Cultural Heritage-Kučka Korita”/ “Traditional dry stone masonry technique” was held in Kučka Korita on 28 September 2016. The workshop, organized in the framework of European Heritage Days, focusing this year on the topic “Cultural Heritage and Local Communities”, is part of the project “’Valorizing the Montenegrin Katuns through sustainable development of agriculture and tourism - KATUN”.

At 11 o'clock, in the restaurant “Stara kuća” in Kučka Korita, Aleksandra Kapetanović, a member of KATUN project team, held an introduction about the workshop on traditional dry stone masonry technique. This was followed by the tasting of local products from katuns (cream and cheese from Kuči, ... ).

At 12 o'clock participants attended the workshop “Traditionally dry stone masonry technique”, which was held in Građen katun, on the estate of Obrad Drakulović . The aim of this workshop was to familiarize and train participants with the stone building techniques „in dry“. Following the introduction about the basic characteristics of dry-stone technique, the participants had a chance, instructed by master Peđa and Aleksandra Kapetanović, to participate in remodeling the collapsed wall of a cottage (glada) built in 1946.

The workshop was attended by students of architecture, representatives of the Fund for the Development of Kuči “Marko Miljanov”, of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism and the members of KATUN team.
